Today I’m reviewing I’m a Childhood Friend and I want to Remain a Supporting Character but for Some Reason I Became the Heroine’s Love Interest.

The main character, Amatsuki Suzuna, was isekai’d into a Galge like game. She was supposed to be a key capture character for the hero, but because she remembered her true identity, she lost interest in the game’s story. When she tried to avoid the hero, she accidentally bumped into one of the main heroines Hinase Riri, during a difficult situation.

Realizing the reason for Hinase Riri’s predicament, she tried to save her and succeeded, but then something strange happened , Hinase Riri changed as well…?

Again and again, Hinase Riri would appear, seemingly determined to follow Amatsuki Suzuna around and jealous of her relationships with the other heroines. What I really enjoyed about this LN is that Doby Translations did an excellent job with the translation and it felt like reading an official translated LN. Everything was described with such detail, as if we were reading the ongoing manga panel.

However, the only downside to this series is that the character of Hinase Riri in the manga feels a bit underwhelming; her characteristics don’t quite capture the beauty and charm that the LN describes.

This mouthful title has become a trend in Japanese literature lately, so you shouldn’t underestimate their quality and this one is definitely one of the best yuri LNs available in English right now. At the end of the story, the author rewards us with Gesbian Lex.

I’m giving this a 4/5 rating. Primarily due to the manga art of Hinase Riri being a bit of a letdown compared to her Light Novel arts. Otherwise, it’s a splendid yuri light novel recommendation!
