The Saint Whose Engagement Was Broken When She Became Too Perfect Is Sold Off to a Neighboring Kingdom Review

Where to Read : Mangadex
Right now, The Saint Whose Engagement Was Broken When She Became Too Perfect Is Sold Off to a Neighboring Kingdom is super popular. It’s about Philia, a saint who’s brilliant but terrible at social skills. Because she’s so efficient and honest, people were afraid of her, and the minister were against her for not accepting bribes.
She’s engaged to the 2nd Prince, Julius, who hated her for being too perfect, and the kingdom people and even her own family disliked her. Despite being treated unfairly, the one thing that makes Philia smile is her younger sister, Mia, who she dotes on and is also a saint.
I’m not sure if I read the anime or the manga first, but Kanpeki Sugite Kawaige ga Nai to Kon’yaku Haki Sareta Seijo wa Ringoku ni Urareru (JP) really grabbed my attention. The dynamic between the main character Philia, and Mia, had a definite yuri vibe to it.
Even though the series didn’t have any explicit yuri tags, the manga really hinted at a deep love between them though it was expressed in different ways, that’s how I’ve interpreted it.
At first, it felt like a standard overpowered MC getting annulled and exiled story. But then the plot really shifted when it started focusing on Mia’s revenge for Philia.
Her quest for vengeance was a lot of fun to read, and I especially enjoyed the scenes where Mia would recall her memories of Philia and swoon over her. Even though it probably just a bit of yuri bait, it was still a really enjoyable read, thanks to the decent art and story
